Frequently asked questions

We don’t sit between you and your customers.
‍
Burnt is built exclusively for suppliers. We don’t insert ourselves into the relationship between you and your customers or try to “own” the ordering experience. Those relationships are core to your business, and we respect that. Our role is to strengthen how you operate behind the scenes—not change how your customers interact with you.

‍We’re AI-native, not AI-retrofit.
‍
Burnt was built from the ground up in the AI era. While many legacy platforms are now layering AI onto systems designed a decade ago, our technology is AI-first by design. That means deeper intelligence, faster iteration, and systems that actually learn and adapt—rather than surface-level automation.

‍Our team comes from this world.
‍
We’ve grown up in and worked alongside food suppliers. We understand the nuance, the edge cases, and the reality of how this industry actually operates. That domain knowledge shapes everything we build, allowing us to solve real problems—not just the ones that look good on a roadmap.

Day one. Customers see immediate ROI through faster order processing, fewer errors, and reduced operational friction — even before full rollout is complete.

Most customers are live in 4–6 weeks, with little to no lift from your IT team.

We work in phases, starting with one workflow or one depot, so you see value early while the rest is connected in parallel.

Yes. Burnt works with any ERP, including modern systems and legacy or “archaic” platforms.

If your ERP has APIs, we integrate directly. If it doesn’t, we build custom integrations using alternative methods. We’ve designed Burnt specifically for the reality of foodservice systems — not idealised software environments.

Burnt is designed for autonomy with control.

It uses confidence thresholds to determine when actions can be automated and when human review is required. Exceptions are automatically routed to the right teams (sales, ops, or finance), with a full audit trail of decisions and changes.

Over time, Burnt learns from these interventions and reduces exception volume.

Security is foundational. Burnt is currently undergoing audits for SOC 2 and ISO 27001, and is UK GDPR compliant. We follow best-in-class security practices across infrastructure, data handling, and access controls.
